I am a photographer living in rural Vermont with my veterinarian hubby, four children, and a whole barnyard of animals. I love good food, love to cook, and always searching for the perfect meal. I learned early in life how satisfying food can be. My mother, a self-taught Hungarian cook , created elaborate gourmet feasts. Her meals not only dazzled your taste buds but were a feast for the eyes. She taught me some very good lessons in the kitchen such as the importance of a very clean, cold bowl for whipping cream, how to make the perfect pie crust, and the secret to perfect fried chicken . We traveled all over the world, and lived in Australia for a while. My parents had adventurous palates, and we always ate what was in front of us, no matter what.
Nowadays I live in a small town, and long for the excitement of city life. Rural living has its pros, great for raising a family with relatively no crime, fresh air, and a community that cares about their residents. Vermont is beautiful. With that said, I escape to the city any chance I get. I love the bustle and lights, dirt and noise. One of my very favorites is New York City, with its mecca of ethnic delights! Going to the Big Apple is like traveling the world, one block at a time!
Why a blog? A place for me to record my culinary adventures be it in the kitchen or in someone else’s. A place for friends and family to follow my trek for the perfect meal, be it in Vermont or where ever my nose my lead. Enjoy!

Sounds exciting. No time to “get into” the site…doctor appt. in less than an hour.
Gramma
Sounds exciting. Don’t have time to “dig into” your pages right now.
We have tried for years to replicate Gramma Kelly’s fabulous graham cracker pie recipe. Claudia has found “the real thing” (as judged by Grampa). It was and now still is his favorite, and the new favorite of everyone who tasted it at Grampa’s 78th B’day party.
Am I losing my mind, or did my mother comment on your blog?! Who is pulling my leg?!
Very cool page! I love it
I know, I also did a double take! Thanks for the comment, hope you guys are well.
Jodi,
This is the first time I have actually read through you blog, it is spectacular, especially the photographs. I will get Gary at Max’s Conch Bar here on Long Island, Bahamas to take a look I know he’ll want to contribute.
Hi Octopus Pie,
I like your blog, and your writing is particularly engaging. Glad I found you through foodbuzz and good to meet you! Oh, and I would love to be able to move to Vermont-you are counted lucky in my book. My Warmest & Witchiest Regards, Stella
